To make sure we provide the best possible swimming experience, please provide us with the following information.
ACCEPTANCE OF RISK AND PARTICIPANT AGREEMENT (Effective April 2025)
By signing this form, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the
following terms and conditions in relation to your participation in Coastal Swim Coaching
sessions:
1. Swim Competency - I confirm that I am physically able to swim at least 25 metres
unaided, using any stroke.
2. Medical Disclosure - I have disclosed any relevant medical conditions, allergies, or
medications that may affect my ability to participate safely in the session(s). I understand
that it is my responsibility to update Coastal Swim Coaching of any changes to my
health status.
3. Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability - I acknowledge that swimming,
particularly in open water, carries inherent risks. I accept full responsibility for my
participation and understand that Coastal Swim Coaching has not independently verified
my swimming competency. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with the activity and,
to the fullest extent permitted by UK law, release and indemnify Coastal Swim Coaching,
its coaches, assistants, and insurers from any liability for injury, illness (including but not
limited to Covid-19), death, loss, or damage to property arising from my participation,
except in cases of negligence or breach of duty by Coastal Swim Coaching. Nothing in
this Agreement shall limit Coastal Swim Coaching liability for death or personal injury
caused by its negligence, or the negligence of its personnel, agents or subcontractors or
any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded by applicable law
4. Personal Property - I understand that Coastal Swim Coaching accepts no
responsibility for loss or damage to any personal belongings or valuables during
sessions.
5. Covid-19 and Communicable Diseases - I understand that while reasonable
precautions are taken, Coastal Swim Coaching cannot guarantee protection against
Covid-19 or other communicable illnesses. I accept the risk of participation during any
such outbreaks.
6. Refund Policy - Refunds will not be provided in the event of participant cancellation.
Exceptions may be made solely at the discretion of Coastal Swim Coaching in cases of
exceptional circumstances.
7. Data Protection (UK GDPR) - Any personal data provided will be handled in
compliance with UK data protection laws. It will only be used for the administration of
Coastal Swim Coaching activities unless explicit consent is given for other uses.
Photography and Filming
I acknowledge and consent to Coastal Swim Coaching
taking photographs and/or video recordings during sessions. These may be used for
promotional purposes across print, web, and social media platforms. If I do not wish to
appear in promotional material, I will notify Coastal Swim Coaching in writing prior to
participation. Images will be stored and processed in accordance with the UK General
Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
